LAURA BROWN-BREETVELT has exhibited extensively for the past 15 years.
Her work is collected by private and corporate collectors in Canada, United States and Europe. She has created several Monuments of enduring elegance and power in many mediums; predominantly bronze. Her innovative design of parks, playgrounds, fountains, gardens, stage sets and private fine art pieces illustrate the full breadth of her vision and responses to different themes, sites and materials.
“There is something absolute within all styles of art, sculpture and design. I do not limit my interest to just one style or one material. I’m comfortable creating a portrait in oil, creating a historical monument, or designing a stainless steel minimalist sculpture. I love the process of art; all genre of art. The language of art has become a way to explore an interior life of feelings. Hence my art forms mirror my emotional reality.”
Born in Northern Ontario, Laura Brown Breetvelt began her formal studies in Fine Art at the Banff Centre of the Arts. She continued her studies of Bachelor of Fine Arts at Mount Allison University in New Brunswick and at Queen's University, Kingston, Ontario.
